WWW: You’ve made an absolutely brilliant start to A Level Media on the coursework side – well done! Your blog is fully up to date and your reflection on the mise-en-scene recreation is exactly what I want to see in an LR task. Keep up the good work!

EBI: Your analytical work so far shows a good level of detail which is so important at A Level. However, it is also important to focus on written English so think about how you organise your writing (sentences, paragraphs etc.)

Reflect on your first month of Film & TV Language, What aspect of Film & TV language have you most enjoyed studying?

Personally misc-en-scene has been a strong favourite of mine because now I have gained the ability to properly analyse and understand what happens in a scene and all the little elements which join up to create the main message behind a scene.

What is your strongest piece of work so far? 

The misc-en-scene recreation has been my strongest as I believe my attention to detail and my ability to recreate the original video was strong.

What is your weakest?

The analysis of the posters could have been more in detail.

What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop before we start coursework at the end of Year 12? 

My written english skills and presentation need to improve before coursework as this would allow for my work to be easily read.

  The clip below is from dumber and dumber. In the clip below the  diegetic  sound comes from the characters and their dialogue. It can also be seen through the two main characters repeated use of annoying phrases and noises.  Diegetic  audio being audio only the characters in the scene can hear. The  sound bridge  can be seen when the car stops to pick other people up and the guitar starts playing a few seconds before the camera shifts to reveal the people in the back of the car singing along to the song. misc en scene recreation by laith

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuZTa3JmcCs - Link to recreation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6f0w5BRasw&t=58s - scene i chose to recreate I chose karate kid because I believed that it wouldn't be easy however not too challenging as it would allow me to practice my film making, I chose to recreate a action packed scene in which the two main characters fight. I used two different phone cameras to record from different angles. What went well? The angles and transitions were pretty good in my opinion and the music perfectly created tension along the recreation and moreover another thing that went well is the acting considering me and my friend had never undergone any prior acting experience at all. What could be improved? Mainly the acting, camera quality and audio quality could be vastly improved also with less background noise and steadier camera movement however considerent the budget which was £0 these issues are miniscule.
