Total 22/30

Strong opening, excellent use of images.

Already feels like a wire or top boy style idea, point on montage, POV shots show excellent thoughts behind opening.

Some great iconography- pin board is a classic crime drama convention.

Really well developed narrative already great detail.

Is there too much for 3 minutes though? I also think that if you need all of this perhaps some of this needs to be trailed rather than shown? This feels like a full episode.

Superb delivery and use of images in presentation.

Whole presentation is narrative but lacks media elements of language representations audience ect.

Excellent for crime genre conventions but would like to see some media theorists.

Similar to Chicago PD, multi strand narrative, good comments on representation.

2) Use this feedback, comments from peers and your own reflection on your presentation to self-assess and write your own detailed WWW and EBI for your coursework concept and presentation as a whole.

WWW: Very good plot with a lot of crime conventions, very good use of sound, cinematography and acting/characters. Plot has a lot of details and has a multi strand narrative.

EBI: It is too long to fit into 3 minutes and rather than being an ending cliff hanger scene it should be an opening scene with the meeting being the ending enticing people to continue watching the show. Even better if I could also implement some key theorists and describe more in detail the production behind the show. Props are also very good.

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your actual coursework production. Do you need to update your statement of intent? Does your concept offer enough clarity? Is it appropriate for the audience specified in the brief? Is it achievable to film with the resources you have available? Can you add media terminology or theory to your statement of intent now you have reflected on your presentation and seen others?

I will need to significantly reduce my production because it will not fit into the 3 minute required brief. This can simply be solved by stopping all events after Mark enters the meeting as this ensures the scene can be used as an opening scene rather than a cliff hanger. My statement of intent will need to change by having more media theorists, key terminology and more information about representations/ audience and industry. This will ensure my production is as efficient as possible ensuring I achieve high marks. My concept is easy to understand and perfectly fits the crime genre whilst adding elements of tension and justice. It is also appropriate as there is little to none violent language being used and weapons will only be used briefly such as guns. There are plenty of locations which can be used, flashbacks scenes will help to add diegetic and non diegetic sound. Contrapuntal sound can also be implemented towards the ending where Mark enters the restaurant where the meeting happens but this is where the clip ends. It will show him pulling out a gun from his pocket.
